Biography

Membership in regional and national associations keeps us current with trends and regulations and connects us with other funeral service professionals in this mobile society. We belong to the National Funeral Directors Association, the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association and the Greater Worcester Funeral Directors Association.

In order to provide options in pre-planning funerals we are associated with the New England Funeral Trust and also hold an Insurance license in order to provide insurance funded funeral plans to those who so desire.

John graduated first in his class at New England Institute. He began his working career after college as a teacher in the public schools working part-time at the funeral home. This exposure to funeral service provided the incentive to change careers. John has been a licensed funeral director over 25 years and along with his wife Janet (Kennedy) Erb has raised his family in the community he serves. This community involvement by the family has led to membership and many times holding office in service clubs, fraternal groups, school and scouting groups.
John serves on the board of trustees of a local savings bank just as his predecessors John A. Kennedy and Guyer W. Fowler did. He has also served as a member of the board of the Community Chest, Rotary Club Officer, and held several church offices over the years.
